The mission of the Greenmap project is to strengthen a community's awareness of and connection to its urban ecology and social resources through locally created maps. A community green map becomes a map of a community’s home, showing the connections between where we live, the food we grow, the things we do, and the land we live on. What becomes clear is that everything is vitally interconnected. The current geographic extent of this network in BC includes Langley and the Cowichan Valley. This community greenmap is a member of the International Green Map System (GMS), which is a globally connected, locally adaptable framework for supporting community sustainability. Green Maps use Green Map Icons to chart the sites of environmental significance in urban places around the world. You can help this community greenmap grow by adding your sites to the map.
